GDPR & Data Protection
Last updated: March 2025
1. Scope and Applicable Law
This page describes how Job-Bridge.hr complies with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation – GDPR) and the Croatian law implementing it (Zakon o provedbi Opće uredbe o zaštiti podataka, OG 42/18). We process personal data in a lawful, fair, and transparent manner, for specified purposes, and in line with the principles of data minimisation, accuracy, storage limitation, integrity, and accountability.
2. Legal Basis for Processing
We process your personal data only where at least one of the following applies (GDPR Article 6):
- Contract: processing is necessary for the performance of a contract with you (e.g. providing the platform and matching services).
- Consent: you have given clear consent for specific processing (e.g. marketing, optional communications).
- Legitimate interest: processing is necessary for our legitimate interests (e.g. security, fraud prevention, improving the service), unless your interests or fundamental rights override them.
- Legal obligation: processing is necessary to comply with a legal obligation (e.g. tax, anti-money laundering, or data retention requirements).
3. Your Rights Under GDPR
As a data subject you have the following rights (Articles 15–22):
- Right of access (Article 15): to obtain confirmation as to whether we process your data and to receive a copy and related information.
- Right to rectification (Article 16): to have inaccurate personal data corrected and incomplete data completed.
- Right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”) (Article 17): to request deletion in cases such as where data are no longer necessary, consent is withdrawn, or you object and there are no overriding grounds.
- Right to restriction of processing (Article 18): to request that we limit how we use your data in certain situations.
- Right to data portability (Article 20): to receive your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format and to transmit them to another controller where the processing is based on contract or consent and is carried out by automated means.
- Right to object (Article 21): to object to processing based on legitimate interest or for direct marketing; we will cease unless we demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds.
- Right not to be subject to automated decision-making (Article 22): see section 5 below.
- Right to withdraw consent: where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time; this does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
4. Supervisory Authority (Croatia)
The supervisory authority in the Republic of Croatia for data protection is the Croatian Personal Data Protection Agency (Agencija za zaštitu osobnih podataka – AZOP), Selska cesta 136, 10000 Zagreb, Croatia. You may contact AZOP for information or to lodge a complaint. Website: azop.hr.
5. Automated Decision-Making and Profiling
We do not take decisions based solely on automated processing (including profiling) that produce legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affect you. Any matching or ranking on the platform is supportive of human decisions and does not replace them. If this practice changes, we will inform you and, where required, obtain your consent or provide other safeguards under GDPR Article 22.
6. Right to Lodge a Complaint
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the EU Member State of your residence, place of work, or place of the alleged infringement. In Croatia, the competent authority is AZOP (see section 4). Complaints can be submitted in accordance with AZOP’s published procedures.
